Our society has improved a lot on the attitude towards people with many type of illness, there is a lot toimprove on the attitude and behavior towards people with illness of mind. It is very difficult for the families and society to cop up with the situation and act with maturity. The problem increases as thepeople grow in to adults without receiving any treatment for their mental illness.

The Sukrutham Charitable Trust was formed to address this situation, to provide shelter, treatment and care for adult male persons with autistic and other illness. The first project of Sukrutham Charitable Trust was “Sukrutham Seva Nilayam”, which is a rehabilitation center of mentally challenged persons, located at Changanassery in the Kottayam District of Kerala. The Seva Nilayam is working at a rented house now. The trustees and supporters of Sukrutham is trying their level best to have an own building to give better care for their inmates. Sukrutham also joins hands with Seva Bharathi to provide food foraround 250 patients and bystanders at Govt Taluk Hospital Changanassery, every week.

Sukrutham is dreaming of an Autism training center for training people to ensure autistic adults aregiven better care and to also identify the problem early in the child hood and prevent it from becomingbeyond control. Materializing the project is hitting roadblocks due to financial constraints.

Our Inspiration

Swami Vivekananda

"In this world always take the position of the giver. Give everything and look for no returns. Give love, give help, give service, give any little thing you can, but keep out barter. Make no conditions and none will be imposed. Let us give out of our own bounty, just as God gives to us.”
