A Diwali with a difference this year.
This years Diwali festival was so special to us, as we had a chance to be among Tribal families of Kodagu, Mysore and Chamarajanagar districts of Karnataka as part of the outreach and support program from www.uthishta.org towards the marginalized populations.
Deepavali marking the good over evil and the seasonal changes to Winter, we extended our support and warmth to our tribal brethren’s with Diwali gifts. Each Tribal family was provided with blankets to protect them from the upcoming winter season, and Diya and sweets to celebrate Diwali. They always needed these extra support as they are away from mainstream and we require them to be in par with others in societies. These gestures apart, Uthishta has been supporting many Tribal students in their continued education including higher studies as long-term projects.
Around 1000 tribal families across various parts of Karnataka were the beneficiaries of this program this year.
