Mission Umbrella 2022- tarpaulin to support tribals during monsoon
Looking for 1000 tarpaulin sheets to support tribals during this monsoon.. Rs. 720/ per tarpaulins
Mission Umbrella- tarpaulin to support tribals during monsoon Western Ghats bordering Karnataka and Kerala has a vast population of tribals , they live in various colonies within or on the peripheries of forest areas. They are the warriors who protect the forest as they worship nature as their god.
The torrential rain during monsoon is a season of diseases, hunger and fear for those dwelling in forests. This region gets 4 times higher average rain (3000-4000mm) than Bangalore (950mm) during the rainy season. The tribal settlements are going to see an extremely difficult time in the upcoming 4 months of monsoon season.
In the month of May 2020, Uthishta provided vegetable kits to a vast group of tribal population. This interaction helped us to understand more about the difficulties of the Tribes. Due to the prolonged Corona lockdown, they were unable to do any menial jobs/ unable to sell any of their forest collections to earn money. Hence most of them could not do re-work/strengthening of their home/sheds to prepare for monsoon. Their homes are sheds measuring hardly 200 square feet in the middle of forest, made of some sheets, bamboos and palm leaves, which cannot save them from torrential rains and wild animals. Can we provide them with shelter during this rain?
Uthishta has identified 1000 such families needing immediate help. The ask is to provide each family with a tarpaulin sheet to protect them from rains, it will be of great humanitarian support. Think of donating an umbrella to Vanavasis, with the same cost we shall provide protection for an entire family from torrential rain and associated diseases and difficulties.
Uthishta is reaching out to you with a request to support this urgent cause. We request you to support these 1000 families with an estimated cost of Rs. 7,20,000 (Rs 720/tarpaulins).
Let us join hands together to support our tribal brothers and sisters from the torrential rains.
